Who is behind this work?
A designer exploring how nature, perception and atmosphere can help create more meaningful human experiences.
More than offering design solutions, I offer a way of seeing.
A perspective that helps founders, visionary clients, hospitality brands and developers recognise possibilities, relationships and qualities of experience that often remain unseen.
My name is Oliviero Orlando, founder of IBRIDESIGN®.
A Different Question
For more than twenty years I worked across product design, concept development and spatial experiences, collaborating with international companies while continuously developing an independent design language.
Over time, however, my attention gradually shifted.
I became less interested in designing objects alone and increasingly interested in a different question.
Can design help people experience the world more deeply?
That question gradually transformed the way I understand design.
It eventually became the foundation of an evolving design discipline that I call Nature-Integrated Design.
My Way Of Seeing
Before designing differently, I believe we need to see differently.
Over the years, I have cultivated a way of seeing shaped by personal research: looking beyond appearances, questioning what seems obvious, and searching for the essential.
I try to approach places with fresh eyes — observing before interpreting, listening before intervening, and seeing relationships rather than isolated things.
Nature has been one of my greatest teachers in this process, reminding me that everything is relational, dynamic and constantly unfolding.
For me, seeing is a practice of attention, openness and presence — and the starting point of the way I design.
SEE WITH FRESH EYES → OBSERVE → LISTEN → CONNECT → DISTILL → DESIGN
Nature-Integrated Design
Nature-Integrated Design is not a style.
It is an evolving design discipline.
It draws from philosophy, environmental psychology, neuroscience, ecology, phenomenology and hospitality to understand how spaces can cultivate attention, presence and a deeper relationship with the living world.
Rather than asking what a place looks like, it asks what a place allows people to experience.
Designing Conditions
Today my work focuses on designing the conditions that make meaningful experiences possible.
I believe memorable places rarely emerge from complexity.
They emerge from carefully designed relationships:
between people and landscape,
between movement and stillness,
between light and shadow,
between architecture and atmosphere,
between the built environment and the living world.
Design cannot create presence directly.
But it can create the conditions in which presence becomes more likely.
Practice & Research
My projects range from hospitality concepts to contemplative spaces and nature-integrated environments.
Although their scale changes, they all pursue the same intention:
to create places where people can slow down, observe, reconnect and experience nature more consciously.
Alongside design practice, I continuously develop Nature-Integrated Design through research, Signature Projects and Design Field Notes.
Every project becomes part of an evolving body of knowledge where research informs practice and practice continually expands research.
Collaboration
Today I collaborate with founders, visionary clients, hospitality brands and developers, to help define the principles, atmosphere and experiences behind meaningful places.
Sometimes this begins with a conversation.
Sometimes with a concept.
Sometimes with an existing place ready to evolve.
The goal, however, remains the same:
to create environments that cultivate attention, presence and a more meaningful relationship with nature.
I am always interested in conversations with people who share this direction.
